Globalization 2.0: The Rapidly Changing World of International Business and Trade with Thomas Hanson, with an image of a man speaking at a lecturn

An event not to be missed! Thomas Hanson, widely regarded as Minnesota's leading foreign affairs expert, is coming to Metro’s College of Business and Management to speak on the geopolitical changes that are rapidly creating a new and uncertain era in international business.

Over a long career in the U.S foreign service, Tom served in countries and regions now at the center of a once-in-generation re-alignment of trade, economic and national security relations.

The post-World World War II economic framework, often referred to as the liberal, rules-based international order, is under attack or eroding in countries large and small in every corner of the globe.

Minnesota stands at risk, home to more globally-engaged corporations per capita than any other U.S. state. The long-settled rules, patterns and practices that once grew their global businesses and assured an orderly system of global trade can no longer be assumed.

Mr. Hanson kicks off Metro's Globalization 2.0 Speaker Series as it should: insightfully framing the world’s rapidly evolving geopolitical and geo-economic landscape.

Don’t miss the first of our multi-expert conversation on how Minnesota should prepare and participate in this new and uncertain era of international business.
