What does it mean to learn in an age where AI can write essays, solve problems, and even imagine new worlds with us? This talk explores how artificial intelligence is not just a tool we use, but a talking tool and a partner we now collaborate with. Drawing on research in education and practical frameworks for understanding work and agency, I will think together with you on how AI changes the roles of students, teachers, and institutions. Together, we’ll ask: what stays uniquely human, what shifts to AI, and how can we design learning that prepares us for a future of collaboration with intelligent systems?
Alku Sirén is a Senior Advisor at Miltton and the Nordic West Office, Finland.
The College of Business and Management Lunch and Learn is part of an ongoing monthly series of presentations and discussions hosted by the College of Business and Management. This conversation is open to all educators, administrators, instructional designers, and students of Minnesota State Education System. This series allows everyone to meet during lunchtime (Central Standard) and bring their questions and ideas that will include conversation starters and possibly opportunities for both large and small group conversations.
