On Thursday, August 14, Veterans Services will holding an all-day in-person Military Student Orientation and Resource Day. The event will include opportunities to get to know other military-connected students at Metro State, learn about resources on campus and off, and, of course, food!
Even though “orientation” is in the title, the event is for all military-connected students! A military-connected student is anyone who has a connection to the military, whether you’re a current or former service member, or the spouse, partner, or child of someone who is serving or did serve in the military. The event will include information that will be useful to students who are new to Metro State, including those starting next year, as well as resources and information that will be helpful to current students.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. You're welcome to join us for as many presentations as you're available for:
- 9-10 AM: Welcome, Introductions, Tour, and Campus Resource Review
- 10 AM-12 PM: Military Benefits, Financial Aid, and Scholarships
- 12-12:45 PM: Lunch (food will be provided)
- 12:45-2:00 PM: Veterans Services Officer (VSO), Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA), and State Tuition Reimbursement (STR)
- 2-3 PM: VA Healthcare, Disability Ratings and Resources, and Veteran Readiness and Employment
- 3-4 PM: Career Services
We hope you will join us!
