The Student Health and Basic Needs department invites you to attend free a overdose prevention training in partnership with Steve Rummler HOPE Network.
The training covers a number of topics including:
- Key info on opioids and current data on the opioid crisis
- How to recognize signs of an opioid overdose
- What naloxone is, and how it works to reverse an opioid overdose
- The action steps when responding to an overdose
- How to administer intramuscular (IM) and nasal naloxone
- Protections provided by Steve's Law (MN's Good Samaritan/ Naloxone Law)
- Where and how to get low or no-cost naloxone
The trainings will run for approximately 60 minutes and each participant will receive a free Overdose Prevention Kit, including naloxone.
