Understanding and Responding to Mass Incarceration 2023 Conference
Youth Justice: Changing the Narrative
Register today for this year's Understanding and Responding to Mass Incarceration (URMI) Conference, Youth Justice: Changing the Narrative
This daylong conference will examine the specific challenges faced by youth in the criminal legal system or at risk of involvement in it. Topics will include historical and personal trauma, the school-to-prison pipeline and prosecution of youth as adults, as well as options for response such as community prevention, restorative practices, mentorship, and alternatives to incarceration.
This year’s URMI conference has reached full in-person capacity. For anyone who cannot join us in-person, limited portions of the programming (welcome and introductions, keynote address, morning panel) will be available to view on Zoom beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The annual URMI conference—now in its tenth year—is free and open to all university and community members. Email any questions to therissa.libby@metrostate.edu.
