Biography

Mark Faxvog is a dynamic, results-oriented finance executive with more than 25 years of progressive experience spanning higher education, government administration, and corporate finance. As associate vice president for Finance and Budget at Metro State University, he provides strategic leadership in financial planning, budget development, and operational efficiency—driving institutional success through fiscal accountability and continuous improvement.

Before joining Metro State, Mark served as director of Finance at Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College, where he implemented effective budgeting practices and operational enhancements. While serving at the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Mark led finance and operations initiatives that modernized internal systems and improved statewide program efficiency.

Mark’s private-sector foundation includes finance and audit roles with major corporations such as Honeywell, Boston Scientific, and UnitedHealthcare, where he built a strong grounding in accounting, contract administration, and internal controls.

An experienced leader in financial management, operations strategy, and business process improvement, Mark is known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to mission-driven excellence. He holds both an MBA with a concentration in Information Management and a BA in Business Administration/Finance from the University of St. Thomas.

Mark is passionate about fostering innovation, advancing fiscal stewardship, and supporting organizations that drive meaningful impact in their communities.
