Due to the extreme weather conditions, Metro State will move all classes and student services, at all of our locations, to fully remote operations beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday, January 22, through Friday, January 23. Metro State Student Center, Library and St. Paul Public Library buildings will be closed during this time. We expect to resume regular, on-campus operations on Saturday, January 24.
The Fall 2025 scholarship cycle is now closed. Students will be notified by email at the end of the semester of their scholarship status.
The Metro State University Foundation offers a variety of scholarships twice a year. These awards are made possible through generous gifts from alumni, friends, faculty and staff, corporations, and foundations.
The next scholarship cycle opens February 15, 2026, and closes March 15, 2026. During these dates, please log in to AwardSpring to see which scholarship are available. All eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Fall Scholarship Applications
The fall scholarship application opens September 15 and closes October 15.
Awards from the fall application cycle are applied to the next spring semester.
Spring Scholarship Applications
The spring scholarship application opens February 15 and closes March 15.
Awards from the spring application cycle are applied to the next fall semester and spring semester.
Eligibility Requirements
The criteria will vary for each scholarship and may have further requirements.
You have been accepted into Metro State University
You have an active StarID and password
You will be enrolled in classes at Metro State University in the upcoming semester
You are in good academic standing
There is one application that reviews your eligibility for all available scholarships on AwardSpring.
During the open application period, click on the link to AwardSpring and enter your information into the application.
Review qualifications for each of the scholarships you may be eligible for as they may require additional materials such as an essay or letter of recommendation.
Check your AwardSpring dashboard after the application is submitted to view the scholarships you meet the qualifications for.
Are there any scholarships for the summer term?
No, there are currently no scholarships available for the summer term.
Can scholarship funds be applied to my outstanding balance from last term?
No, scholarships are only applied to the upcoming fall or spring semester.
How will I know if I received a scholarship?
Emailed notifications on awarding will go to the email address you provided on the application. You will receive an email if you did not receive an award as well.
How can I view my scholarship awards?
You can view your scholarship awards by logging into AwardSpring.
Make sure to read through the instructions and complete the follow-up requirements.
How will the awards be applied?
Financial Aid will apply the scholarship funds to your tuition balance. If your tuition is already paid, the scholarship funds are disbursed to the electronic banking account or mobile banking account that has been set up with Metro State.
When will I receive my scholarship funds?
Financial Aid will apply the scholarship funds to your account in the upcoming semester, following the course add and drop dates.
How many times can I apply?
You may apply any time the application cycle is open as long as you meet the eligibility requirements
