Learning outcomes
General
- Analyze needs related to primary and secondary prevention across the lifespan to include pediatrics, pre and postpartum women, adults and geriatric populations in the context of primary care.
- Analyze the effects of established risk factors on health and illness.
- Determine the implications of history, physical findings, laboratory, and diagnostic studies related to the management of select common acute health conditions
- Develop theoretically and scientifically based, individualized, holistic, and culturally sensitive health maintenance and acute care plans.
- Utilize evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to propose a plan to manage select common acute health conditions across the lifespan.
- Discuss the role of the advanced practice nurse and associated professional issues arising from the clinical setting.
- Understand the principles of prescribing medications and treatments based on legal, ethical, pharmacological and pathophysiological principles.
