NURS 623 Advanced Integration of Pathophysiology, Pharmacology and Health Assessment

This course focuses on advanced synthesis of principles and content of pathophysiology, pharmacology and health assessment in the analysis of complex health issues in acute care nursing practice.

Learning outcomes

General

  • Analyze the etiology and pathogenesis of select high acuity and/or complex diseases/ alterations in homeostasis.
  • Predict the system specific clinical manifestations that result when the body is not able to maintain homeostasis.
  • Interpret select diagnostic test results.
  • Synthesize knowledge of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics relevant to pathophysiologic processes therapeutics, adverse outcomes, and drug- drug/ drug-food interactions.
