Kristin Jorenby joins Metropolitan State as the disability services director. She brings a variety of experiences serving individuals with disabilities to the university, most recently at the Olmstead Implementation Office. As assistant director there, Jorenby worked with diverse communities across the state to ensure that people with disabilities could live, work, learn and enjoy life in the communities they choose.
Jorenby has worked for the University of Minnesota’s Disability Resource Center, the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s disability programs and serves as president of the board of directors for Access Press, a newspaper for Minnesota’s disability community.
An alumna of Metropolitan State, Jorenby received a bachelor of human services focusing on disability studies and was a finalist for the outstanding student award. Jorenby also has a master’s in public policy from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a graduate certificate in disability policy and services from the School of Continuing Education and Human Development from the University of Minnesota.
