Science Education for New Civic Engagement and Responsibilities (SENCER): the signature initiative of the National Center for Science & Civic Engagement, SENCER is a national project focused on empowering faculty and improving STEM teaching and learning by making connections to civic issues.

The Democracy Collaborative: works to carry out a vision of a new economic system where shared ownership and control creates more equitable and inclusive outcomes, fosters ecological sustainability, and promotes flourishing democratic and community life.  

The International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE): an international organization devoted to promoting the development and dissemination of research on service-learning and community engagement across all levels of the education system.

Action Research 
An international, interdisciplinary, peer reviewed, refereed journal that is a forum for the development of the theory and practice of action research. The journal publishes quality articles on accounts of action research projects, explorations in the philosophy and methodology of action research, and considerations of the nature of quality in action research practice.  Submission guidelines

CES4Health 
A free online mechanism for peer-reviewing, publishing, and disseminating products of health-related community-engaged scholarship that are in forms other than journal articles. For example, videos, manuals, curricula and products developed through service-learning, community-based participatory research and other community engaged work. Submission guidelines

Education, Citizenship, and Social Justice 
A peer-reviewed journal that provides a strategic forum for international and multi-disciplinary dialogue for all academic educators and educational policy-makers concerned with the meanings and form of citizenship and social justice as these are realized throughout the time spent in educational institutions. Submission guidelines

Gateways: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement 
A refereed journal concerned with the practice and processes of university-community engagement. It provides a forum for academics, practitioners and community representatives to explore issues and reflect on practices relating to the full range of engaged activity. The journal publishes evaluative case studies of community engagement initiatives; analyses of the policy environment; and theoretical reflections that contribute to the scholarship of engagement. Submission guidelines

The Interdisciplinary Journal of Partnership Studies (IJPS 
A peer-reviewed, open-access, electronic journal that shares scholarship and creates connections for cultural transformation to build a world in which all relationships, institutions, policies and organizations are based on principles of partnership. Submission guidelines

Journal of Experiential Education 
An international, peer-reviewed journal publishing refereed articles on experiential education in diverse contexts. The JEE provides a forum for the empirical and theoretical study of issues concerning experiential learning, program management and policies, educational, developmental, and health outcomes, teaching and facilitation, and research methodology. Submission guidelines

International Journal of Research on Service Learning and Community Engagement 
A peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality research focused on service-learning, campus-community engagement, and the promotion of active and effective citizenship through education. Submission guidelines

Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement 
A peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal to advance theory and practice related to all forms of outreach and engagement between higher education institutions and communities. Submission guidelines

Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship 
A peer-reviewed international journal through which faculty, staff, students, and community partners disseminate scholarly works. JCES integrates teaching, research, and community engagement in all disciplines, addressing critical problems identified through a community-participatory process. Submission guidelines

Journal of Community Engagement in Higher Education 
An online, refereed journal concerned with exploring community engagement and community-based learning perspective, research, and practice. Submission guidelines

Journal of Critical Thought and Praxis 
A peer-reviewed, online journal dedicated, through developmental feedback to clarify ideas and arguments, to publishing work that is accessible to a broad social justice community. It provides a platform for scholars, educators and activists to engage in inter/transdisciplinary scholarship and dialogue that encourages advocacy and concrete engagement with social justice movements.

Journal of Service-Learning in Higher Education 
An online, international, peer-reviewed journal for the dissemination of original research regarding effective institutional-community partnerships. The primary emphasis is to provide an outlet for sharing the methodologies and pedagogical approaches that lead to effective community-identified outcomes. Submission guidelines

Metropolitan Universities Journal 
Publishes manuscripts on topics pertinent to urban and metropolitan institutions. Each issue is organized thematically and edited by a guest editor(s) who invites prospective authors to prepare submissions. Guest editors are typically selected from CUMU member institutions and represent a variety of academic backgrounds and fields of expertise. While authors are invited to submit manuscripts for juried consideration, unsolicited manuscripts are not generally considered. Submission Guidelines

Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning 
A national, peer-reviewed journal for college and university faculty and administrators. MJCSL endeavors to publish the highest quality research, theory, and pedagogy articles related to higher education academic service-learning, campus-community partnerships, and faculty engaged scholarship. Submission guidelines

Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement 
Partnership recognizes that successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The articles in this peer-reviewed journal focus on how theories and practices can inform and improve such partnerships, connections, and collaborations. Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; or examining practices across disciplines or campuses; or exploring international networks, are all encouraged. Submission guidelines

PUBLIC 
A peer-reviewed, multimedia e-journal focused on humanities, arts, and design in public life. It is part of the national consortium Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life, committed to the relationship between culture and participatory democracy. Encourages community-engaged learning, research, and practice across boundaries through vivid description and analysis, documentation, evaluation, inquiry, and critique. In Public, forms including performance, literature, design, sound, historical representation, video, photography, interactive media, and texts are integrated with other types of knowledge to animate and deepen engagement with civic life. Progress in Community Health Partnerships 
A national, peer-reviewed journal whose mission is to identify and publicize model programs that use community partnerships to improve public health, promote progress in the methods of research and education involving community health partnerships, and stimulate action that will improve the health of people and communities.

Reflections Journal 
A peer-reviewed journal published twice a year that focuses on how community-based writing projects 1) contribute to our knowledge theories, practices, and uses of writing and rhetoric; and 2) alter traditional pedagogy and research practices of composition and rhetoric and allied fields.  They seek to publish the academic research that emerges from community-engaged writing projects as well as the non-academic genres produced by project participants- the poetry, essays, photographs, and memoirs that often emerge from such work. Science Education and Civic Engagement 
An international journal that explores constructive connections between science education and civic engagement that will enhance both experiences for our students. Contributions to this journal will focus on using unsolved, complex civic issues as a framework to develop students' understanding of the role of scientific knowledge in personal and public decision making, along with examining how such knowledge is embedded in a broader social and political context. By exploring civic questions as unsolved challenges, we seek to empower students as engaged participants in their learning on campus and as citizens in their communities. Submission guidelines
